In the paper, we discuss the use of nanoparticles in medicine. We describe the types, structures, complex formation methods and physico-chemical properties of nanoparticles. In more detail, we will consider liposomes and study their thermodynamic properties by means of the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method. The measurements showed us the interval of heat absorption where the orderly structure of these particles is disturbed, and this parameter determines the energy at the expense of which these complex nanoparticles were formed. We discuss experimental studies that include the preparation of liposomes of different compositions, drug encapsulation, and analysis of thermal behavior using calorimetry. The obtained results allow to determine the stability of complex nanoparticles according to temperature and environmental conditions, which is important for the optimization of nanoparticle drug delivery systems.
