Kakheti region in Georgia, is one of the mostly cultivated area. In recent years, interest in the content of heavy metals in soils has increased significantly around the world. Heavy metal contaminated soils pose a threat to plant, animal and human health. So, it is interested to study contamination of Kakheti lands with heavy metals as final products: fruits, wine is consumed by humans and it may have negative impact on people’s health. Our goal was to determine the total content of some heavy metals ( Cd, Pb, Zn, As, Mo, Cu, Mn and Fe ) in the soils of Kakheti by microwave plasma atomic-emission spectrometry. In addition, distribution of the heavy metals was studied, as well as ecochemical assessment of the environment was performed.
