Author: meri tsitsagi
Keywords: Carbohydrate, dicumyl peroxide, triphenylcloro me¬thane
Annotation:

Carbohydrates and their derivatives perform important functions for the development of a living organism. In addition, the introduction of various functional groups into known medicinal preparations may significantly change the nature of the drug's action, and in some cases add new properties to them. The reaction of 1-O-Allyl-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (3) with triphenylcloro me¬thane in the presence of a dicumyl peroxide catalyst, gave 1-O-(2-chloro-3-triphenyl ¬me¬thyl)-propyl-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (4). The reaction basically proceeds according to Markovnikov's rule. The reaction proceeds according to the following scheme: The structure of the synthesized compounds was determined by physico-chemi¬cal¬ research methods.
