The presentation is about the desalted bivalve molluscs -Mactra bulgarica in the late Miocene sedimentary rocks of the ivri plateau.Mactra bulgarica is the last representative of the diverse mollusc fauna living in the Eastern paratethys. inthe late Miocene there was a drying up of the Eastern paratethys which is known the Khersonian regression.Eastern paratethys as well as the disappearance of the amazingly rich and diverse eocsystem in this sea are reared to this regression.
